Link Building

    Link Equity

    Quick definition

Link equity is the SEO value passed from one page to another through hyperlinks — sometimes informally called 'link juice'.

Link equity describes how authority and ranking power flow across the web. When a high-authority page links to yours, a portion of its equity transfers and helps the receiving page rank.

The amount transferred depends on the linking page's authority, its number of outbound links, link placement, and relevance. A single contextual link from a high-equity page can outweigh dozens of low-quality links.

Internal links also pass equity. Smart internal linking funnels authority from your most-linked pages (often the homepage or top guides) toward commercial pages you want to rank.
